Excellence in Reception Teaching:
We know it can be hard to find high-quality CPD that meets the unique needs of educators/practitioners in reception. That’s why the Department for Education is launching a brand new, funded, development course for reception teachers from Autumn 2026. Designed by early years professionals, for early years professionals, the Excellence in reception teaching national professional development course will give participants the tools they need to strengthen their reception practice through practical, evidence-based approaches.
Courses start in Autumn 2026 and registrations have opened. You can check your eligibility and apply here.
There are a number of providers. We are supporting the National Institute of Teaching offer, therefore we recommend this option when applying.

This network is co-ordinated by Meridian Trust.

KS2 Attainment Network
This network is co-ordinated by REAch2 Academy Trust.
The KS2 Attainment Network, also known as the RISE East of England Teaching Exchange, brings together schools, trusts and leaders into a regional network, supporting collaboration and shared learning alongside KS2 practice support. The Exchange is delivering a coordinated programme of webinars designed to provide clear, practical support for schools to raise Year 6 attainment.
