AB ECT Registration

Step 1 & 2 - Register with us

All ECTs must be registered with an Appropriate Body to ensure an accurate record of the progress of the ECTE induction process. To register new ECTs, there are 2 steps that must be completed:

  1. You will need to complete, sign and return one of the following documents depending on the criteria set out below:
  • Service Level Agreement - applicable if you are a new school to the AB or you are an existing school signing ECT/s up in the first term of a brand new academic year i.e. September).
  • Addendum to the CPTSH SLA - applicable if you are an existing school and sign up as part of the Jan/April cohorts where an SLA has already been completed at the beginning of the academic year).
  1. Register your ECT/s on our ECT Manager system, which allows you to track where your ECT is in their induction, submit assessments and monitor their progress. Please ensure you input your ECT's Teacher Reference Number, their full name and date of birth correctly; this will then get sent to the Teacher Regulation Agency to confirm their induction.

Step 3 - Register your ECTs with the DfE Digital Service & with your ECTP Lead Provider

  • Register your ECTs and mentors on the DfE Portal. Please list Cambridgeshire and Peterborough AB Service as your Appropriate Body and ensure your Delivery Partner is listed as Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Teaching School Hub and the Lead Provider is listed as Teach First if onboarding with us for this. Registering with the DfE enables your ECTs/Mentor to be verified as eligible for funding. Once verified by the DfE, the details of your ECTs and Mentors will pass to Teach First, who will provide ECTs and mentors access to their 'My Teach First' account and online learning platform (Brightspace).
  • If you use a different Delivery Provider on the Provider-Led route or will be using the School-Led route, please ensure you follow up on registration directly with that relevant provider as needed.
