The Golden Thread

Teaching Schools have been designated by the Department for Education to focus mainly on the 'golden thread' of Initial Teacher Training, Early Career Framework and National Professional Qualifications. The thread provides training for teachers from the very start where they are training to teach right up to Executive Headship.

Initial Teacher Training 

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Teaching School Hub works closely with 3 partner SCITTs to deliver Initial Teacher Training.

Appropriate Body

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Appropriate Body Service monitors assessments and support of ECTs to ensure they receive their statutory entitlements.

Early Career Framework

The Hub delivers the Early Career Framework to early career teachers across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough working with Lead Partner the Education Development Trust.

National Professional Qualifications

NPQs are delivered by the Hub in conjunction with Lead Provider: Teach First.

Continued Professional Development

The Hub also offers wider CPD which complements the golden thread and curriculum hub/Research School provision.
